I think that most people are tempted by yield. It is easy to convince ourselves that other factors may not be that bad because we start to rationalize. There are winners out there for sure, but as you said, many high yield stocks are risky and that is why the yield is high. Thank you for adding to the conversation!

I like how you specified that dividends are not as important as their underlying stock. Many investors new to DGI investing focus on yield only. This works with 100 year old dividend players, but many stocks with high yields are risky investments. I wish i could say that i haven’t chased yield before, but I have and still occasionally do.
